Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Informatics.

The ELTE Lágymányosi Campus is in Budapest, on the Buda side of the Danube, a few minutes from downtown. Within the campus there are two buildings of the Faculty of Science: the Northern and the Southern Building, 50 meters from each other.  The two buildings offer a wide variety of lecture halls and classrooms of different sizes.

The campus is easily accessible by public transportation, by tramway lines 1, 4 or 6 and by bus 107 (for details and itineraries, see futar.bkk.hu).

The campus has also excellent, free parking possibilities for about 300 cars. Parking is available in the university parking lot free of charge. Entrance is possible only from the direction of Rákóczi Bridge, while there are two exits towards Petőfi and Rákóczi Bridges. Those, interested in this option, should indicate the type of car and license plate number during the online registration.

Staying in Budapest

The conference venue is easily accessible by tramway lines 1, 4 or 6 and by bus 107.

Tickets and passes (which are accepted on all forms of public transport) can be purchased from the vending machines located at most metro and tramway stations, at the airport or some hotels can provide them. They can also be purchased in the BudapestGO application.

Tickets are available as single tickets (HUF 450/cca. 1,2 Euro), in books of 10 (HUF 4000/cca. 10 Euro), or as time-based tickets. You can also buy passes granting unlimited travel for different periods.  For conference participants, we recommend the 15-day Budapest pass (HUF 6300): https://bkk.hu/en/tickets-and-passes/prices/monthly-passes/15-day-budapest-pass.55/

For students it is preferable to purchase a monthly pass, valid together with a student ID card (HUF 3450).

Do not forget to validate your ticket! Ticket inspections are very common and can issue on-the-spot fines if you are travelling with invalidated ticket. At the same time, passes don’t need to be validated. Note that on some buses and trams you can only get on through the front door and you have to present a ticket or pass to the driver.

Taxis

All licenced taxis are painted yellow, they use a uniform charging system, must have a visible meter and they must accept credit card payment. Make sure to get the receipt printed by the taximeter at the end of your journey to ensure a swift remedy for whatever complaint you may have. To avoid any inconveniences please use branded taxi companies

Accomodation
